  1. Pete "SGT MAC" Mac Donald 581st Sig Co, grew to be 52d Sig Bn. Can Tho, Sep 65 through Nov 67. Lived on Eakin Compound, "Pink Palace," and The Villa in Ben Simoy. Trying to locate a few folks: Don Marchini (Upper Darby, PA; Jim Hershfeld, Orlando, FL; Richard Harding, Tallahasee, Fl; Homero Herra and Pablo Canales, Alice, TX; Jake Lainfiesta, San Francisco, CA; CPT Jan Butlack, CPT Russell Pells, CPT Warren Edmonds, CPT Alan Cupples, just to name a few of the guys I spent a lot of time with. Started out in 52 Sig Det in 65; grew to be the 581st Sig Co, and eventually became the 52 Sig Bn, HQ's in the "Bank Buliding" on the Mekong River, next to the ARVN/Navy RAG boat pier. Worked in the CommCenter, as courier at the Can Tho Airfield, and finished my tour working in Tech Control. My Brother Paul was assigned to same Battalion, by the time he left after TET 68, between the both of us we had seen the history of the 52d Sig Bn. Played a lot of handball and basketball off-duty. Would like to hear from guys I mention or any others who were in Can Tho, My Tho, Vinh Long, Soc Trang, Ca Mau, and even Binh Thuy airbase.

I am looking for Sgt.Alvarado of the 3rd SPS at Bien Hoa, formerly at Langley AFB, Va.till5/68 He went by nickname Rick, I think his 1st name was Manuel. His home state wa Ca. He was my room- mate at Langley's 4500 Security Police Squadron. I am also looking for Frederick Kerchner same place Langley, and he was from West Va. with a degree in forestry. I have exhausted nearly every effort to locate these old friends, please help me find them, I need closure.

THEY ESCORTED THE CRUISERS TO THE HARBOR ENTRANCE, AS WE WENT IN OUR MISSION WAS TO TAKE OUT THE AA(SAMS) THE COMMUNICATIONS,AND THE MILITARY BARRACKS.AS WE HEADED OUT THE HARBOR PATROL STARTED CHASING US (PT BOATS), BUT AS WE FLASHED OUR BADGES FROM TURRET-3,THEY SUDDENLY HAD SINKING FELLING,THEY SHOULD"NT BE FARTING AGAINST THUNDER.

I was with 2/1 in 66. then the blt. moved up to Quiang Tri to secoure the area to build a helo port. Then i extended for 6 more mounths. then the Tet in Hue City and here we went again. I was hit in Mar. of 68 a little ways out of Hue. I spent from Mar. of 68 to Mar. of 69 in Balboa Navel Hospital in San Diego, Calif. I am now in New Mexico. I am the Chapter Commander of a Disabled American Veterans Chapter here now. I am also the 1st Junior Vice Commander of the Dept. of New Mexico. I am 100% disabled from Vietnam.

I ran the supply room and we shared the 336th AHC's hanger and other facilities. I arrived shortly after the start of TET 68. Our detachment returned to the company in Vinh Long sometime in the beginning of'69

  40. Ken Morgan 1099 TC 1st LOG Saigon & Cat Lai 67 to 69. I was part of the Army's navy and drove a "Mike" boat or LCM based in the 506 Field Depo. Saigon and later in a small vilage called Cat Lai about 5 miles south. We hauled troops and fuel barges to Ben Hoa AB and picked up amo and ohter cargo in the South China Sea.

I crossed the equator on both cruises so I was able to get my revenge for the first one Worked on the MK 56 GFCS and stood watch in a 37 director  Looking for FTs and Bennington crew.

He was helicopter pilot killed in a crash near Dau Tieng, RVN on 6-27-66. I'm looking for anyone who may have known or served with "Big John" during his 1954-1966 Army career. Was known as "Jesus" and served as Battalion S2 scout assigned to Kilo and later as Chief Scout for the Battalion. There where very few of us, we were Army but did the same things as the Navy PBR's, and work with them. My boat was the only boat to move during the 68 Tet. Looking for an SSgt Parker, a Sp4 Stien an Ex-Infantry grenadier, Sp4 Carrol Leake , The only person in the world who would go into Saigon and get drunk and miss his flight home.   65. George Nunnemacher 272nd MP Company, Phan Thiet, 1968. Did convoy escort, prisoner escort, town patrol and some night hunting as a part-time volunteer door gunner. Our unit supported the 1st Cav (3rd of the 506th ?) and later the 101st AirMobile (can't remember the unit). Most of the bad memories have faded and, after all these years, am interested in talking with anyone else who served on LZ Betty at Phan Thiet, especially during the Tet Offensive.

  77. Jon Edward Beaumont HHC1stBde5thInfDiv(m)USARPAC, Quang Tri Province- or all over Vietnam. 1 from 05/5/69-05/5/70. My father was in a unit known as the Kit Carson Scout. He past away in sept. of 1990 of cancer that Is believed to be caused by exposure to agent orange. His name was Edward Herbert Beaumont Jr. and he used to tell me that he had been all over southeast asia, that he had been in Loas, Cambodia, and Thialand. I am very interested in finding anyone who might have known him or heard of him. He was very quiet about his experiences in Vietnam somtimes saying he had affiliation with the CIA and therefore could not talk about his duties. I very much loved my dad and had the unfortunate experience of watching him die. The only thing that i can take comfort in is that he died as the goverment states by causes related to or caused by his service in Vietnam. I would very much appriciate some kind of feedback to my search for more information about my dad. Thank you sincerly.

Company A 5/60th 2nd Battallion, from about early June/1970 thru August or September I went on Eagle Flights and search/destroy missions, I believe with Lt. Reingold, 2nd platoon. I have been looking for Dennis Richards, who carried the grenade launcher and was my friend. We split up when the 9th went home and I went to the 4th Infantry Div. I never got his address.HELP! We worked the canals of the Mekong and throughout the Plain of Reeds and what we called Hobo Woods, which was heavily booby-trapped. I would really like to find Dennis.

I am from Mobile, Al. but lived in Pensacola, fl. for several years and am now in North Carolina for the past 2 1/2 years I would like to hear from any of the guys from Phu Bai (oct." 69" Phu Bai had 67 inches of rain in about two weeks time!) I found it in Napoleon Michigan. He was in SF in 1970/71. On my last vacation to Ft. Bragg I found quite a few of the other guys in the album. Our searches have turned up nothing.   106. Jim Good A Trp. 4/12 Cav, 1st Bde 5th Mech, Quang Tri, C-2, Cua Viet, 69-70. Tank gunner on M-48, later on Sherridan Tanks with 3rd Platoon, A 4/12 from December 69 to November 70. After Viet Nam went to Fort Ord and then Germany 3/8 Cav. ETSed, went back to college, then spent the remainder of 20 years on active duty as an officer. Has it been nearly 30 years since I arrived in Viet Nam? It doesn't seem possible.
