  20. rick franey 2nd Battalion 35th inf. 3rd brigade 25th div, Pleiku, 1966. I was in recon attached to hdgtrs company. My platoon leader was Lt. Frank Brennan I was part of the 3rd Brigade task force that deployed to viet Nam and i left on January 17, 1967 we fought some hard battles. A Company was with us on one big battles, we had heavy causualies and the Company Commander Jim McDonough was killed that day along with many others.

  31. Tom Reed 1968-1969. I am a former Marine (served in DOMREP 1965) now a lawyer and a law professor working with Delaware veterans pro bono on their VA claims. I am searching for a veteran of the 190th Assault Helicopter Company who served between June 1968 and June 1969 who remembers Pvt. Albert Maclom. Some time in early spring 1969, Malcom was working in the motor pool with another soldier named Jones fixing a roof when Jones dropped a hammer which hit Malcom in the face. In 1988 Malcom had to have several teeth removed (damaged) and believes this service incident damaged his teeth so that the became rotten. I need to locate someone who can confirm this incdent because the VA denies claim coverage to Malcom. He is now uneployed and unable to get a set of false teeth. Thanks. T. J. Reed

I would like to hear from SFC McGuire, SFC Brasch &SSG Mendellen, 5 SF; regarding a mission So.China & NVN border. My call-sign was Bullet 65 w/11 ACR, & my Recondo # was 660; regarding a B52 mission to bomb a bridge to stop SAMs to NVN: ref; trains. I was offered a mission there, given 24 hrs. to de -cide. I saw a way "in", but no way "out"; so I turned the mission. My mother deserved a body;KIA. Even though the CIA offered lsrge amounts of money & 2 months R&R w/all expenses paid, etc. It became apparent this was a suicide mission, so I made a good decision.

Thirty-two years later, and a search of over 13 years, I brought together Marines from our former unit in Las Vegas, Nevada. Men from over 16 States were located and many participated in the reunion. Our Company Commander flew in from Florida to join with us. An incredible experience. The search goes on for Marines that served with K-3-1 in Vietnam from 1965-1967. Appreciate any assistance.

  69. Crafton, Danny L. 1st Platoon A-10-5, 1bravo,3/187,101Abn, Ft. Knox Ky, 68-69. Folks, I served with 1st Platoon, Alpha Company 10th Battalion, 5th Training Brigade, Ft. Knox Ky July 1968. This was an Airassault Platoon, in Basic at Knox as an extra Company, 1st Plaoon A-10-5. I was their Platoonguide and designated Rearguard. This Platoon was later designated (as best I can recall) 1st Platoon Bravo, 3/187th, 101st Abn Div. The Platoon Sgt. was Ssgt. Jennings, the Platoon Leader was 2nd Lt. Dan R. Crafton. This Platoon did not survive Hamburger Hill. I was not with them as they sent me home as Rearguard and a trained replacement to my NG Unit. I am not a Combat Vet. and was on active duty for a very short time. I thought I should tell someone that ALL of us are not gone. Thank you, Danny Crafton

  74. Michael Lonewolf Cagle 42nd&34th Infantary Scout Dog Unit(a handler), central highlands, 1966/67. I served with two differant scout dog platoon while in the Nam in 1966/67. I worked mostly in the central highlands, but I worked into the southern part of I CORP and the northen part of III CORP. My dog exsperince was OJT in country, and I was the only handler at the time that I was there I was the only airborne dog handler at the time I was there.

  76. Emmett Moore 6th Arty, 52d Arty Gp., Pleiku, Viet Nam, 1966. I commanded Svc Btry and later B Btry. We left Ft. Sill and set up just outside of Pleiku at Camp St. Barbara which some called "Artillery Hill." The 6th was a self-propelled 105mm howitzer batallion armed with M-108s (I think, its been awhile). LTC Farmer was the Bn Co. If anybody remembers being there, call.

  81. Shawn R. Bartley co;C 1'st BN 27 INF, Tay Ninh Province, 8/13 -11/1/67. My name is Shawn Bartley. My mother is looking for anybody how was in service with Howard Lynn Bartley. Co.C 1'st battalion, 27th infantry, Wolfhounds, from 2/24/67 to 11/01/67. He was in Nam from 08/13/67 to 11/01/67, when he was killed walking point, in the Tay Ninh Province. As far as we know, he was the only one killed at that time. He was awarded the Silver Star, for staying and returning fire. We know little about his life there and would like to talk to some of his friends that he had over there. Any information would be greatly appriciated,thank you.

  84. Frederick Albert Feld, III 377th USAF Dispensary , 7th Air Force , PACAF, Tan Son Nhut AB, RVN, May 70- Mar 71. Served as a preventive medicine specialist, AFSC 907X0, assigned to military quarantiine inspector duties on flight line at TSN.Purpose of the MQI program was to prevent the shipment of agricultural disease and publiic health vectors form Vietnam to other countries. The program was a joint effort of the DOD and the Dept of Agriculture and the US Public Health Service Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Unit was awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 'V' device for combat support and the RVN Gallantry Cross with Palm. A great big welcome home to all of you! Thanks for answering the call to arms at a time when so many turned their backs. God bless!

Our base was across the harbor from Qui Nhon and our job was to protect supply ships that anchored in the harbor. I'd like to hear from anyone stationed there around that time. He served as a photographer on the B-17 BUCKEYE BELL with the eight Air Force 305th bomb group during WWII. He returned home after the war and became a firefighter. I was a paratropper with the 82nd and shipped to nam where I was put with the 109th for a short while and then about twenty of us were shipped to Bien Hoa to up a unit for rigging supplies such as food,ammo,fuel, and anything else that was needed to supply our guys at the difference base camps in Nam.We were stationed out side the air base not far from the 101st. I'm looking for some of the guys I served with during that time. One of my buddies was Melvin Crowl from Maryland.

I was there for the first strike on HAIPHONG HARBOR in June of 1966. Would enjoy hearing from other ex-members of VQ-1 from the same years, especially if you were one of "Ponce's Pirates".

  115. Katie Jenkins McCall I'm looking for anyone who knew LT. JOHN THOMAS JENKINS. I am looking for anyone who knew my father who served in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner from 1969-?. He was origionally from Louisiana. I do not know much about him and am trying to find out information about his life. He died in a huey accident over Pensecola's base, August, 1978.   118. Ted Johnson US Navy, 1951-55. I took my basic training at usntc San Diego Sept. 1951 company 044. I was then assigned to the USS Los Angeles CA-135, and served till 1953. After an emergency leave, I was asigned to a Naval Res.training station in Montgomery Al. In 1953 I was asigned to the USS Wahkiakum County, LST-1162 and served abord her till I was discharged in Sept. 1955. On the Los Angeles I was a deck hand in the 5th. Div. On the 1162 I was a shipserviceman. I ran the ship's store and was the ship's barber. I would love to here from any of my old shipmates. Ted Johnson
