  6. Sam Schifano 552nd MP Co, 2/34th Armor,1/77th Armor, FFII. Charlie 2, LZ Nancy, 1966-1969. I was sent to RVN from Ft Benning Ga. with the 552nd MP Co.in Sep 66. We went as a unit by troop ship, the Simon B. Buckner. Our base camp was II Field Forces, Long Binh. I was basically a guard at a generals base camp. I was court-martialed out of the MPs in Dec 66 and sent to the 2nd Battalion 34th Armor, Recon Plt. Our base camp was somewhere between Bien-Hoa and Zuan-Loc. I served as an observer on the back of an APC (M113)as a M60 machine gunner. I returned to the world in Sep 67. I was then stationed at Ft Carson Colo. with Co. A, 1st Battalion, 77th Armor, 5th Mech. We were ordered to RVN as a unit and I volunteered to go with the company. I was then serving as the Company Clerk. We went to RVN in July 68 and I went back to the world at the end of my enlistment in Jan 69. Our base camp was at Charlie 2 and then we moved to LZ Nancy.

We were supposed to have CMC orders to come back stateside early to train Huey crews but when we got to Okinawa they forgot about us and we spent three months there doing stupid crap before finally getting our orders to return home.

  28. Tom Basner 101st airborne 1/321 arty also HQ 1/501 & D 1/502, VN 67-69. Looking for anyone that may remember me from the infrantry units I served with HQ 1/501 flew over with the batallion commader and his group. there were 3 of us from the ARTY ssg Petty, 1lt. Sharpe and myself. Also anyone that remembers me from D 1/502. I was the ARTY FO (sgt-type). I was wounded in July of 68 from a booby-trap with 5 or 6 other guys. One was the VN scout.   33. Fire Chief Jack Horner Medical Brg. USArmy, 1951 to 1995. 43 Years. I'm a Fire Chief now and I'm looking for anyone that can tell me about Cpl. Bob Zimberlin. He was killed at Quang Tri on Jul 2, 1967 by hostile, ground casualty gun, small arms fire. His father, Robert E. Zimberlin Sr. is dying of the big "C" and asked me if I could find out anything about his son and what happend that day. Robert E. Zimberlin Jr. was 22 and a Cpl. born in San Diego, CA. He was with his for dad for 2 weeks, surfing during his R&R. Because his remains were never viewed by the family, Bob Sr. is having a hard time telling himself that his son is not wandering around in the Nam!   35. Tammy Stanford I'm looking for anyone that knew my husband's uncle. My husband has a longing to know this man with whom he shares a face. His name was F. (Francis) Scott Bechtold. He was a private in the army from October '67 til he was killed on Feb. 17, 1968. He was in Company C, 3rd Battalion, 199th Light Infantry Brigade. He was killed about 14 miles South of Saigon with his squad leader while providing cover for the rest of his company. If you know anything about him or have any stories please e-mail me. I am looking for Terry who is probably still there, the Sgt. I worked for and for Army Sgt. Robert Tucker who left and went to Vent Hills Farms; Air Force Lt.Col. Harvey Angel, Air Force Sgt. Ed Crowson, Army Sgt. Jim Arrenson. I am one of the guys who used to go to Udorn for some good food at Malcom Cash's Bungulow, the Missionary. Remainded in the Army Reserves and Retired as a First Sergeant with C Company, 338th MI Bn at Fort Meade, Maryland in September 1997.
