  5. Tom Labadie 2nd bat 327th Inf 101st Airborne, Phan Rang, 1967-1968. I'm looking for a copy for a documentary filmed about my unit in 1967. It was called "Same Mud Same Blood", and was aired on National TV in spring of 1968. The opening of "Letters from Viet Nam" which aired on TV some years ago (late 80's early 90's) was taken from that documentary and it was myself on the air mattress riding a wave during a stand down. I was a radio telephone operator for chartie co. till cambodia then went to alpha co. as a recon sargent .I was with the 9th until sept 1970 hen i went to the cav up northto a firebase near songbae. I would like to get in touch with some of the guys with me in the area as i have not seen or heard from any one since i left vietnam.

I am his son, a 100% cbt dsbld Army SpecOps medic, searching on his behalf since he cannot do so for himself. He enlisted 1962/MCRDSD/Okinawa/RVNx2(C1/7-3/4). He served as a 81mm Mortar Squad Leader, years in RVN were 1964-1965/1965-1966. I have had his photo & other relevant info. posted at the "7th Marines"site. Part of that time was in a liason team in Baria where I met many US personnel.   22. Michael S. Copper 40th Sig Bn and 69th Sig Bn, Qui Nhn, Chu Lai, Saigon, 67-70. Assigned to D Co. 40th Signal Battalion in July 67 and was immediately sent to splicing school back in Long Binh. Ended up working pole lines in An Khe, Chu Lai, and finally Saigon(69th Sig Bn.) Left Vietnam and returned to college and earned a commission thru ROTC. Retired as Major in 1993.   26. Robert (Bob) Harden 8th RRFS, Phu Bai, '68 & '72. I did the queer electron patrol :)) MOS 33B the first time and 33F the second time. Arrive at Phu Bai 13 days befor the '68 TET offensive, what a welcome. I kind of got lucky both times in that I worked the 4 PM to midnight shift and stayed up 'til sunrise because that's when Charlie usually called it a day and I could get some shut eye in prep for my next shift. Had Thursdays off and spent most of them with Old Grand Dad and H2O at the enlisted club. Played a lot of spades and made barracks chilli that made us pray for ice cream. Went back in Jan. '72, shut old Phu Bai down and bailed out in October. Did Chitose, Japan in '69-'70 and Vint Hill Farmes in '71 and '73. Got my freedom in Aug. '73. Settled in the Boston, MA area, been here ever since. Still doing the techie thing only I'm teaching others how to make a living at it, currently doing network management applications.

I was originally in the 11thAAD when it was changed to the 1st Cav Airmobile I shipped from Savannah Georgia aboard the USNS Upshure on the 15th of October 1965. We arrived in country at Quinhon on the 15th of November 65 and we were trucked to Ankhe that same day. I served with the 15th T.C. my whole tour and was a crewchief on a UH-1B and 540 B. the last 6mos. of my tour I contracted Malaria during the last Month of my tour and was shipped home to Oakland Ca. and was Discharged on the 27th of Jan.67. I returned home to Milwaukie Or. and have lived here ever since.

  63. Don Morin A1/11,5th Mech,1/PLT, Quang Tri, Cam Lo, 68/69. From Ft Carson to Quang Tri into the bushes as a Grunt. I found a Guitar and was able to go on two music tours while on tour, God sure granted me a gift when I landed with that instrument waiting for me in a hole. Nice long story there. I played the thing with "Doc" singing and was able to audition to go on the tour. Lots of memories foggy but willing to dig in and share what I know, hopefully finding someone I served with or a friend of someone, hometown etc. I am originally from Jewett City Ct., now living in the Mountains of Norwich Vermont.

Miller, Springfield, Mo.(A Btry) who was killed at FSB Ripcord on 18 July 1970 three days before Lt. James R. Kalsu from Oklahoma City, Ok. was killed, never knowing his son was born within hours of his death. I was good friends with JB, Reg Page, Sanchez, Boy, Head, Terry Downey and Pete Gaffey.

  67. Donald D. Ward 1/26 inf. recon, Phouc Vinh/Quon Loi, 1967-68. How can I obtain copies of the Stars & Stripes newpaper from March 1967-1968. Looking for the copy of me on the front page carrying a sack of rice we recoverd from the VC. I was carrying the sack over my head. And I'm trying to find out who the photographer was who was on our patrol at that time for the Big Red One. The picture he took of me was chosen from many. The photographer would remember this because he was really happy that they chose his picture.

  68. Steve Shannon HQ-5th Transportation, Qui Nhon, 1968-69. I was a Food Inspector assigned to a Vetinary Unit which was quartered at 5Th Transportation HQ in Qui Nhon. We boarded commercial ships that were anchored in the outer harbor or tied up at the pier. We checked ship manifests and monitored the freshness and offloading of food to the Units. I would love to communicate with anybody who served in this capacity and also, anyone of the LARC or BARC units that served in this function. Would also like to communicate with anybody who was stationed at HQ 5th Transportation during the years 1968-69.

Would like to hear from anyone that knew me in 69-70. was with D co. 75th ranger 2nd field force, housed in the 199th compound in long bien rvn. Thus far I have find 15 of my old buddies that I had not seen in 29 yrs, it was like a big void had been filled.
