These pages are dedicated to my  brothers in healing.  They are dedicated to the thousands of US Army Medical Corpsmen who served their brothers-in-arms in the Vietnam conflict.

It may be of interest to note that there are 1,394 Medics listed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall, and twelve US Army Medics were Medal of Honor recipients.

Under the organization of the Army Medical Department which has been in continuous existence since its inception in 1818, the US Army Medical Corpsmen or  "Medics" as commonly referred to have been on the field of battle since the early stages of the American Civil War and have been the first line of medical emergency treatment that soldiers in the field encounter; whether it is for their daily medical needs in such mundane things as a common cold or an injured soldier receives when wounded in battle.  Countless Medics have given their lives not only in service to their country, but in service to their fellow American soldiers.  At times a "Doc" would do things his men did not enjoy; in such instances as when the Medics in Vietnam required their men to take their daily dose of  Malaria pills, and at other times a soldier's best friend, father confessor, life saver a Medic has always remained a fond memory to his men who normally called him "Doc".

As many times as a Medic sacrificed his comfort and safety to help those around him; his men took care of him and tried their best to keep him alive that he may be there for their brothers.

I myself, personally owe a great debt of gratitude to the men of the Fifth Infantry Division's 1/61st Regiment, "A" and "C" Companies for making it possible for me to return home.

I would also like to ad my thanks on both mine and my men's behalf to Doctor Bernard Master who was my Battalion Aid Surgeon.  He was key in the running of the Medical Team that was always there for me when I needed re-supply in the field.  Without his 2-3 hour normal turn around on radioed in requests, my job would not have an easy one.
